LYND is a family of real estate companies which individually and through different ownership structures engages in the business of management, ownership, and development of multifamily assets.

LYND was founded in 1980 by Michael Lynd, Sr as a multifamily management business. Mr. Lynd was joined by his two sons, Michael J. Lynd, Jr. and Adam David Lynd in 1995 and 1997 respectively and later joined by Samuel J. Kasparek. Together, they grew the company from 1,100 units under management to the current management portfolio encompassing approximately 35,000 multifamily units across 16 states in 50 different metropolitan areas.

As they grew, Michael Lynd Jr., David Lynd, and Sam Kasparek diversified under different corporate structures to become a nationally-recognized investor and developer in the multifamily industry. In addition to their core business of multifamily, they have made a significant investment into the hospitality sector in co-founding BC LYND Hospitality along with partners Brandon Raney and Clyde Johnson.

Mr. Lynd founded LYND, a multifamily property management company, in 1980 and has over 35-years experience in investing, syndication, development and management of multifamily properties. Mr. Lynd was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army while serving as an infantry officer during the Vietnam War. He holds a B.A. from Michigan State, 1966. As Chairman Emeritus and Founder, Mr. Lynd provides mentorship and oversight to the Executive Leadership team.

Michael Lynd, Jr. joined LYND in 1995. As President and CEO, Mr. Lynd presides over strategic direction for the entire organization. In addition to his role as chief executive at LYND, Mr. Lynd is a founder and principal of both Lynd Residential Properties and Lynd Development Partners which are LYND’s affiliated investment and development entities.

Mr. Lynd is the leader of the team that has raised over $340 million in equity and purchased/developed over $1.8 billion worth of real estate over the past 11 years.

In addition to having a substantial network of real estate professionals, Mr. Lynd has a valuable network of relationships with institutional joint venture partners, lenders and property owners developed over his 18-year real estate career.

Mr. Lynd graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He is currently on the Advisory Board for Bank of San Antonio, NMHC Board of Directors, and serves as the Vice Chairman of San Antonio Chamber of Commerce 2017.

Adam David Lynd joined LYND in 1997 where he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for 16 years. During this time Mr. Lynd oversaw the collection of $250 million in annual rent collections which span across the country in 15 states and 50 different metros. Mr. Lynd has also acquired over $2.8 billion in total real estate value.  As a Co-founder of the acquisition company known as Lynd Residential Properties, Mr. Lynd led joint ventures into both commercial management and the hospitality sector. This resulted in acquiring 50% of the Easton Group in 2007 which launched LYND to becoming the 7th  largest manager of office and industrial space in Miami (7 million square feet). In 2009, the BC LYND Company was established. As one of its founders, Mr. Lynd created a hospitality group which currently operates 12 luxury hotels.  Mr. Lynd received his Bachelors in Administration from Southern Methodist University and holds a CPM designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, as well as, the CAPS designation from the National Apartment Association. Mr. Lynd also Co-founder LYND Development Partners who earned the prestigious “High-Rise of the Year” award from Multifamily Executive for their development project EnV in Chicago. Other impressive high- rise assets include The Bowie Austin and Joule Denver. Accepting his new role as CEO for LYND Opportunity Partners in 2016, Mr. Lynd leads a very skilled investment team that searches for and invests in opportunistic real estate transactions throughout the United States. LYND Opportunity Partners also serves as the investment advisor to American Veterans Housing CORP. This is a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing Veterans with affordable housing. Mr. Lynd has been the driving force for unit growth at LYND. Increasing the unit count from 1,100 units to over 34,000 units to date. This ranks LYND as the 34th  largest property management group in the United States. In addition to his role as CEO, Mr. Lynd has committed 19 years to his real estate career. He has a vast understanding of all operational tasks needed to manage and operate real estate successfully.

Samuel J. Kasparek

Mr. Kasparek provides executive leadership and direction of the entire corporate platform. In addition, he is the leader of asset management for LYND which entails regular interaction with lenders, equity partners, and other related parties. Mr. Kasparek is also a Principal and founding Partner of LYND’s residential investment and development divisions.

Mr. Kasparek served as the company’s CFO from 2002 to 2011 when he assumed the role of Senior Vice President. In his new capacity, he has relocated to Denver, Colorado and heads LYND’s second corporate office with a focus on expanding LYND’s presence in the Western markets of the United States.

Mr. Kasparek has been instrumental in leading LYND and its various companies through its expansion from a local, San Antonio operator in 2002 to one of the multifamily industry’s leading national property management, investment and development companies today with over $1.2 billion of real estate transactions during his tenure as CFO.

Mr. Kasparek is a CPA licensed in Texas and a former Big 4 audit manager. He has over 15 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting and investor relations. Mr. Kasparek received his B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University with a double concentration in Accounting and Finance. He also minored in Economics.

Mr. Zunker joined LYND in 2011 as a Principal to oversee multifamily development. During his 12+ years, he has developed over $1.2 billion, ranging from garden to high-rise projects across the U.S. Mr. Zunker has his CPA license in Texas, a Bachelor of Business Administration dual degree in Accounting and Marketing from Texas Lutheran University and earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently serves on the Advisory Council for the Real Estate and Finance Center at UT Austin and is a member of ULI.

Madison has acquired and financed over 10,000 multifamily units since joining Lynd Residential Properties. He has additionally financed $100 million of hospitality assets on behalf of LYND’s affiliated hospitality group. Prior to joining LYND, Madison worked at Goldman Sachs’s Archon Group in Dallas participating in distressed loan acquisitions totaling $875 million of unpaid principal balance. Madison received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Mr. Wilfley’s responsibilities include the day-to-day supervision of all of LYND's national multifamily operations. This will include conventional, tax credit, HUD, affordable and newly developed market rate communities. In addition, Mr. Wilfley ensures that the properties which he oversees meet occupancy, financial, and operational expectations. His extensive background includes property operations, new business development, training, value add renovations, marketing and financial analysis.

Prior to joining LYND, Mr. Wilfley’s most recent position was Regional Vice President for The NRP Group. In this role he was responsible for the successful oversight of property operations for existing tax credit and conventional communities as well as successfully executing the lease-up’s of several newly developed communities within both real estate classifications. He spent ten years with Pinnacle Realty Management Company as Regional Vice President in Seattle Washington where he was responsible for the supervision and development of 18,000 apartment homes, 3 million square feet of commercial real estate and 10,000 homes of association management in both Washington and Oregon State. He also spent five years as the Senior Portfolio Director with AvalonBay Communities and was responsible for property operations for communities located in Southern California, Oregon and Washington State. Mr. Wilfley was also Vice President/General Manager with L’Abri Management Company in Cypress California, where his responsibilities encompassed the supervision and development of regional property manager’s, marketing and training programs, as well as new business development and corporate office operations.

Senior Vice President - Strategic Initiatives

Ken Miller, a multifamily industry executive with over 30 years of experience in Information Technology, Business Systems Processes, and Associate Management serves on The Lynd Company’s executive leadership team as Senior Vice President-Strategic Initiatives.

In this newly-created role, Ken is responsible for the constant evaluation of systems, business processes and procedures across the entire platform---inclusive of accounting, information technology, compliance, construction services, pricing, customer service, and operations.  Ken is currently serving in a senior leadership capacity within Lynd’s Construction Services group evaluating effectiveness of current business processes and serving as an agent of change for improvement opportunities.

During his distinguished career, which includes over 20 years in the multifamily real estate industry, Ken has held COO, CTO, CIO, and VP positions with such firms as CFLane (formerly Lane Company), Peak Campus, Rainmaker-LRO, Ambling Companies, Pinnacle Realty, and Insignia Financial Group.   Ken previously spent 13 years outside the multifamily industry with Sara Lee Corporation and Southern Weaving Company.

His management experience includes overseeing departmental areas such as Information Technology, Corporate Marketing, Corporate Training, Technical Product Implementations, and Ancillary Services (voice, video, and data contract negotiations), and includes cross-functional participation in Compliance, Construction Services, Corporate Accounting, Property Accounting, and Human Resources for Conventional, Affordable, and Student Housing management platforms.

Miller earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Steele Kennett

As Chief Information Officer with LYND, Steele directs the day-to-day operations of technology and oversees the design, development and deployment of all IT infrastructure.

Throughout his career, he has performed various duties including design technology, information architecture and software development. With over 12 years of experience in architecting, developing and deploying web-based software systems and IT infrastructure, his commitment to delivering technology projects on time, under budget and functionally complete is second to none.

Prior to joining LYND, Steele was in the software services industry for seven years.

Randy Brown

VP of Human Resources & Employee Development

Randy has been with LYND since Feb 2010. He has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources and Employee Development. His experience with various industries (Telecom, Software, Manufacturing, Call Center and Employee Staffing) has brought a unique background and insight to LYND that has enabled us to enhance many or our human resource policies and procedures. Randy has a very solid foundation on employee development and training based on his experiences and four years as the Superintendent for the U.S.A.F. Recruiting School.

Randy is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education with a major in Corporate Training and Development and a minor in Human Resources. He has two Associates in Applied Science in Human Resources and Training Development. He also held the distinction of Master Instructor for the U.S.A.F. and was a very successful recruiter for 16 years.

Connie Arambula

General Counsel

Ms. Arambula serves as General Counsel to LYND. In this role she saves the client money in attorney fees and related costs by minimizing the risk of litigation through direct negotiations with vendors, handling all aspects of fair housing claims, drafting and review of vendor contracts, review of incident reports for potential liability, risk management, and insurance reporting, monitoring on-going litigation by working with external counsel, and providing advice on a myriad of landlord/tenant issues.

Ms Arambula has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2003 after obtaining her J.D. from St. Mary's University. Prior to working for LYND, Ms. Arambula represented political entities and developers in private practice, and served as in-house environmental counsel to the United States Air Force. Ms. Arambula currently serves as a director for the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association and is active with the Texas Apartment Association and San Antonio Apartment Association.

Tammy Freiling serves as the Vice President of Accounting and Chief Accounting Officer of LYND. Her team of dedicated accountants provide the accounts payable, cash management, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting for all properties under LYND management. Under Mrs. Freiling leadership, the accounting department is focused on continually serving clients better by improving processes, emphasizing customer service, and raising the standard of financial reporting.

Mrs. Freiling is a knowledgeable, dedicated accounting professional and leader with over 20 years of experience. She brings to LYND her previous experience directing the finance and accounting activities for multi-family and commercial property management companies and investment partnerships. During the span of her career she has acquired a thorough understanding of not just the technical requirements of accounting, but also what the numbers really mean to the property owner and manager.

Tammy has been a licensed CPA in the state of Texas since 1996. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration and her Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to working for LYND, Tammy worked for USAA, Ridgemont Properties, and Ernst & Young LLP.

Jim Bruner joined Lynd Development Partners (LDP) in 2013 as Sr. Vice President of Development. He came to LDP with over thirteen years in multi-family real estate development. Since joining LDP Jim has been very instrumental in developing Joule, a 224 unit, $76 million development in Denver along with originating new development opportunities in Denver, Houston and San Antonio. Currently Jim is developing in excess of $340 million in new projects totaling more than 1,400 units. Prior to joining LDP he was Vice President Development for NRP Group where he was responsible for site identification and local contract negotiation, managing of third party consultants, design direction and managing overall business plan objectives for projects totaling more than 1,200 units with a cost in excess of $140 million. From 2001 to 2009, Jim was Vice President of Embrey Partners, Ltd., and was responsible for developing 2,231 units with a value of more than $190 million. Since 2001, Jim has been responsible for more than 4,800 units with a total market capitalization in excess of $650 million.

Senior Vice President - Development & Construction Management

Victor Young joined Lynd Development Partners (LDP) in 2014 as a Senior Vice President of Development and Construction Management.He has a 20 year background in luxury multi-family, student housing and mixed-use real estate development and construction projects. Prior to joining LDP he was Senior Vice President of Development Management for nearly 8 years at American Campus Communities (ACC:NYSE), where he was responsible for oversight of the development and construction process for approximately $1.5B of student housing projects across the country. Prior to ACC, Vic held various positions in the multifamily development/construction sector, including field supervision and corporate project management at TCR, Hanover and JPI. Vic started his career in 1996 after graduating from the University of Louisiana Monroe with a degree in Construction Management. Since then, he has managed or provided oversight for over $2B in development/construction projects.

Tony Curp joined Lynd Development Partners (LDP) in 2016 as Sr. Vice President of Development. He came to LDP with over 20 years of development experience including multi-family, student housing and retail/commercial development projects representing over $1 billion in value. Prior to joining LDP, Tony was Vice President of Development at Aspen Heights, where he was responsible for the development of $150 million in purpose-built student housing projects. Throughout his career, Tony has focused on identifying, gaining control of and entitling infill sites in high barrier to entry markets, and has led the successful land use approval efforts for over 100 contested development deals around the country. Tony began his development career as a land use attorney and has led development deals in roles of Partner in a law firm, A.V.P of Real Estate for a Fortune 500 company and V.P of Development in both the commercial and multi-family sectors.

Jarrad serves as Vice President of Development for LYND.  He has assisted with the development of over $500MM since joining LYND in 2006, including EnV Chicago, which was awarded High-rise of the Year in 2011.  Jarrad is responsible for working closely with project consultants and contractors throughout the entire development process, from conceptual design through turnover to management, to ensure that LYND’s vision and standard are meticulously upheld.  He earned a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.  Prior to joining LYND, Jarrad worked for a local retail developer, concentrating on large, power centers.

Madeline brings over 12 years of experience in real estate development and property management. She has been involved in the development, management and disposition of over 7,100 units totaling over $875 million. She is responsible for overseeing concept to design marketing, market research, interior design team consultants, asset management for new developments and coordination of assets from development to operations. Madeline received her undergraduate degree from Texas State University. She is actively involved in the San Antonio Real Estate Council, SMPS, ULI and is a member of ULI’s Women’s Leadership Initiative.

Craig has over 14 years of experience in the multifamily industry, where he has focused on asset management, finance, development and investments. Since joining LYND in May of 2015, Craig has led the investment asset management team in overseeing more than 11,000 units valued at over $630MM. Prior to LYND, Craig served three years as a Senior Vice President in the Capital Markets Division of Hunt Development Group out of El Paso, Texas and 10 years with Capmark financing the development and construction of over 75,000 privatized military housing units across the U.S. Craig received a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Colorado.

Ali began her career at Lynd in 2003 and is currently the Vice President of Investment Accounting and Finance. Ali has managed the accounting, reporting and transactional duties on nearly $3.4 billion of real estate transactions for LYND investments and development. She has handled investment accounting and investor relations for multiple LYND joint ventures with some of the most prominent private and institutional investors. Ali graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting as well as a Master of Science in Accounting.

Debbie Nicholson

Vice President of Property Performance and Analytics

Debbie Nicholson is an accomplished property management professional who has worked in the apartment industry since 1987. Prior to joining The Lynd Company, she worked for LivCor the real estate asset management arm for Blackstone.  In that position, she worked in Income Strategy, collaboratively with her team and select national vendors finding saving and revenues opportunities for the Blackstone owned assets. Debbie has also held roles such roles as Regional Vice President, Regional Manager, and Director of IT. Debbie has worked with several of the top owner operators in the southeast, namely Wilkinson Real Estate Advisors, Colonial Properties Trust, Berkshire Property Management and CFLane where she was an integral part of successfully implementing, training, and project managing several software initiatives across their portfolio. In addition, during her multifamily career, Debbie spent almost seven years on the vendor side of the industry with ReaPage,Inc, the nation’s leading provider of property management software solutions.

Ms. Nicholson’s expertise is in maximizing value of the real estate in multiple areas. She has a proven track record of achieving the owner's long and short term goals and objectives. Ms. Nicholson earned her CAM designation in 1997 and is a licensed realtor in Georgia. She is an also active member of the Atlanta Apartment Association.

Angela Beem serves as the Vice President of Marketing for LYND. Her team of dedicated marketing specialists provide unique in-house services that are not offered by any other property management company. Services such as; website maintenance, social media services, reputation management services, digital marketing services, design gallery services, and graphic design services are all offered to our owners at cost. No third party fees apply. Other services include; analytical owner reporting, Google analytics reporting, personalized market analysis, and onsite team support. Mrs. Beem is personally committed to maximizing marketing dollars for our owners to make sure every dollar spent produces top results. Mrs. Beem brings to LYND twenty-one years of marketing experience in the industry. With a proven track record of reducing marketing costs, while increasing qualified leads.

Lisa Bednarz

RVP Northern Region

With experience in every aspect of property management from A, B, & C residential multifamily properties, Lisa innovates to drive targeted results to increase occupancy, revenue, and cost management.   During her six years at Lynd, Lisa has continued to provide expert leadership and insight to owners within the Dallas-Ft.Worth metro while ensuring Lynd’s professional property management policies and procedures are followed.  Prior to joining Lynd, Lisa administered the daily operations of a portfolio valued at over $88MM for a large management firm based in Texas.  Utilizing her skills of strategic planning, combined with professional management of leasing, staffing, financial and maintenance operations of the portfolio, Lisa was able to achieve the expected goals and objectives established by the owners.

In Lisa’s personal life, she is passionate for eradicating homelessness and is an officer on the board of directors for the Housing Crisis Center, a Dallas based non-profit organization dedicated to assisting and stabilizing families, the elderly, and the disabled. By serving in various capacities,  Lisa serves the public on a daily basis fighting for the fundamental human needs of shelter and stability.

Dana Tucker

Regional Vice President

Dana is the Regional Vice President for Lynd overseeing the Houston portfolio.  Dana comes to Lynd with over 22 years’ experience in property management.  Prior to joining Lynd, Dana was Vice- President – Southwest for Pegasus Residential supervising properties in Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.  He has also worked with The Hanover Company, supervising property operations for all Mid-Atlantic and Mid-West Regions. Dana’s varied portfolio included garden style, mid-rise and high rise Class A projects many of which were taken from lease up to stabilization. Prior to The Hanover Company, Dana worked with Camden Property Trust.
